Sheldon Creek Bandit Markese, or "Mark", is a 2002 triple registered Le Cheval Canadien, Baroque Pony and American Warmblood Society Pony Stallion, 14-2 hands tall, 970 pounds, huge bone, hooves of steel, and if you are looking for color, he is homozygous black.
Cheval Canadiens are a rare and little known breed. Originally sent to "New France", from the King's royal stable in France, were French Norman, Breton, Andalusian, Arabian and Spanish Barb horses. These horses were then bred in Canada for almost 200 years without the influence of outside "blood". The breed became official in 1898 with the creation of the breed registry stud book. Currently, there are approximately 5000 purebred horses of this breed in the world, with the numbers rising rapidly as they gain in popularity. Mark is of the Henryville line, which is known for their quiet temperament and easy going manner. Mark is true to his heritage in that he clearly demonstrates his very calm temperament, is easily managed, hard working, human oriented, smart, strong and very willing.

Mark was approved in 2005 by the American Warmblood Society as "red preferred" with a score of 71.5%. At the end of the year, he won the AWS 4th place for "Year End Pony" for all of the entries across the nation that year.
Mark has been in Dressage training and is currently schooling third level. He is very precise, athletic, supple, very flexible in the body and neck, excels at lateral and collected movement, and according to his trainer is the "easiest horse she has ever trained" due to his work ethic and desire to try his very hardest. Mark will continue with his dressage lessons, after his current new adventure...
Mark is exploring his talent in Combined Driving, and we think he is going to be a "star". Again, another trainer cannot believe how easy he is to work with, how quickly he catches on, how "unflappable" he is, how great his "stallion manners" are, and how hard he tries. It doesn't hurt that he is naturally very talented in this type of sport just like his sire "Bandit", who was a National Champion in combined driving in Canada.
Cheval Canadiens cross beautifully with refined breeds like Arabians, Thoroughbreds, Sport Ponies, Welsh, Andalusians and other Warmbloods. All mares must be approved by owner prior to breeding.
Mark is available for breeding, A.I. only. Fresh cooled semen is available now.
